The Hampton Roads Community Foundations awarded the Garden of Hope, Inc. a grant for its Stanhope Supportive Housing Initiative, announced today.

Hampton Roads Community Foundations’ Board of Directors voted granting the Garden of Hope CDC up to $107,975 for its Stanhope Supportive Housing Initiative. Stanhope House is an all female housing facility serving as transitional housing for non-violent ex-offenders. The grant will support the final cost for furnishings and will finance the first year of Stanhope’ operations.

The Hampton Roads Community Foundation is southeastern Virginia’s largest grant and scholarship provider. Since its founding in 1950, the regional community foundation has provided more than $180 million in grants and scholarships to improve life in southeastern Virginia.

The grand opening, with an inclusion of a ribbon cutting ceremony, will take place on Dec. 17 at 2pm in Norfolk, Va. at the Stanhope House. For more details, contact the Garden of Hope office.
