“Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”- Joshua 3:5
As disciples, we should strive for spiritual maturity. However, life’s distractions can pull us away from fulfilling this goal. Therefore, it’s important to take time each year to refocus. The Lenten season is a wonderful opportunity to do this. As Jesus committed 40 days to fasting and praying before he began His public ministry, Lent is a 40-day period that Christians devote to prayer and fasting as they listen to God’s voice. This year, Lent begins on Wednesday, February 17. During this season, we will consecrate ourselves by refraining from or incorporating certain activities into our daily lives each week.
